Established by a group of Corpus Christi business leaders to honor the Rev. Bennett’s outstanding record of community service. The Rev. Bennett, a WWII veteran and former pastor in Refugio and Robstown, has served as a director for 17 area non-profit organizations and as chaplain to the Corpus Christi Police Department and the Nueces County Sheriff’s Department.

Applicants must:
be graduating seniors from a Coastal Bend* high school;
be in the top 10 percent of their graduating class;
establish financial need;
attend Del Mar College, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi or Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
